MEMORIES REVISITED: I read with interest D Fowler's letter (News Shopper, June 2) about the bomb in Turpington Lane allotments. My father sent me to look at his plot after the bomb had fallen and I found a large round hole. I could see an unexploded bomb. His allotment was covered with lumps of clay. I ran home and told dad and, as he was an air-raid warden, he knew what to do. The next day I could see it was being removed as I went along Bromley Common to Princes Plain School. I can remember my father in these days and my husband still rents the same plot on the allotments.
